Crimson Shadows, Dai’s Grace, Moon Over Xiaoxiang

A woman like her never leaves your thoughts, or your heart! A woman like her blooms like an elegant orchid on a lonely night. Tears roll from the tips of her leaves, crystal clear, reflecting faint starlight as they shimmer. A woman like her does not know why she came. Some say she carried debts from a past life, and so descended from the rainbow-colored heavens before finally drifting away. A woman like her walks beneath the moon along a fence, lips slightly parted as she softly recites poetry. A woman like her warms her hands over a brush on a cold night, quietly writing poems on a handkerchief. A woman like her, dressed in white as bright as snow, has already slipped away. I’ve always wanted to write about Lin Daiyu, but never knew how to begin. I was afraid that ordinary words would tarnish her. Now I’ve finally worked up the courage to write this. If it isn’t good, please don’t come after me, Yuyu! I didn’t want to write a transmigrated Daiyu, because I’ve always felt that she would be too different from the original character. That was also why I wrote about Yingchun before. The Daiyu in this story is gentle on the outside but strong within, with a mind of her own. She may not be as heartbreakingly delicate as the original, but she has a charm all her own. Let’s see how she creates a different life for herself!
