Quiet Affection, Unspoken

One is the woman he had secretly loved since his youth. A sudden accident separated them forever. The other is a woman he happened to save. The familiar flutter in his heart made him feel as if he had known her all his life at their first meeting.

It was both an ending and a beginning.

Time passed in the blink of an eye.

He was a newly appointed deputy mayor, burdened with great responsibilities, while she was a rising star in the legal world, transformed into someone entirely new.

He and she were close to each other, yet afraid to take the final step.

From their first cautious encounters to an ever-deepening entanglement,

After so many changes in the world, they finally realized this was not a one-act play. She, like him, had never truly gone away.

He did everything in his power to win her over. “No matter what, I’ve found you again. Whether you’re the person you were before or this completely new you, no matter what your name is or what you look like, there is only one you in this world to me.”

When they cared for each other, neither of them knew they were in love.

He thought, I’ll wait until she’s a little older.

She thought, I’ll wait until he’s a little more settled.

They did not yet know that life was unpredictable, and every moment should be cherished.

To quietly watch over someone, quietly hope for a love that might never come, without wanting the other person to know or the world to find out.

Perhaps they simply did not want to. Perhaps they could not.

When the person in your eyes is gone, can the person in your heart still remain?
