The Rebellious Concubine: I Dumped the Scheming Emperor

At the time, she was the nineteenth wife of Yan's Left Chancellor. She kept a low profile and trod carefully, all to complete the secret mission her father had given her. But she caught the attention of the supreme ruler, who demanded that she remain faithful to him. Later, bent on revenge, she entered the palace and became the dazzling, alluring companion of the king. He planned every move and left nothing to chance, knowing her thoughts as if they were his own. He ignored the opposition of the entire court, treasured her above all else, and devoted himself to her alone. When a consort so much as laid a finger on her, he had all ten of that consort's delicate fingers cut off. When a consort so much as harmed a single hair on her head, he had her beheaded. The court's high ministers knelt before the steps of the emperor's bedchamber for five days and nights, demanding that she be expelled from the harem. He ignored them, held the ceremony to appoint her Imperial Noble Consort, and ordered: Anyone who speaks against it will be stripped of office and beheaded! Later, his empress returned, and without hesitation, he drove her into despair. Only then did she learn that she was not the one who had driven him mad with love and obsession. Someone else had. His heart had never made room for her. His love was a path to utter ruin. Once, he said, “As long as I live, you will live. As long as you are safe and unharmed, I have nothing to fear.” Once, he said, “I willingly let you use me. My power over life and death is yours to command!” Later, he said with disgust, “I let you use me only because I wanted to spoil you! If I don't want to spoil you, you're worth less than a pig or a dog!” Later still, he filled the palace with daylilies and lined every street in the capital with them, awaiting her return. He only hoped she would hear him say, “You said being pierced by ten thousand arrows felt like this. Then today, grant me the pain of ten thousand arrows piercing my heart!” She swore to tear her enemies limb from limb, only to discover she had hated the wrong person! She had longed to spend her life with the man she had loved for years, cherished by him alone, but he left her utterly broken! Love and hate, it turned out, were separated by only a hair's breadth. The person you love most is the person you hate most! **Yao Yao's new story is here. If you like it, add it to your library. Coffee is free, so brew Yao Yao a cup to perk her up!
