There are towering mountains on both sides, deep canyons, dense forests, and beautiful scenery. Villages are scattered on both sides of the river valley like pearls dropped from the sky, making this area of ​​mountains and valleys filled with smoke and endless vitality. For thousands of years, the Tujia people, the Miao people, and other ethnic groups have lived here, forming a unique local culture. The folk customs here are simple and tough, and countless colorful and ancient stories have been interpreted. The most famous among these villages is Mulong Village. The rice produced by the thousands of acres of terraced fields on the village is of excellent quality, with a natural oil-soaked color. The cooked rice has the aroma of Ruo leaves, and the fragrance will linger on the lips and teeth after eating. It will be unforgettable for a lifetime. It was a must-have tribute to the court in the Ming and Qing dynasties. In order to prevent the ancient stories that happened here from disappearing and being lost in the long river of history, the author has unearthed some wonderful stories and recorded them here through a large number of field visits. The He Xianggu guerrilla brigade was betrayed by a traitor and was besieged in Hefeng Taiping by Zhang Chaowu, the head of the Kuomintang's security regiment in Shadao, who gathered security groups from several counties in western Hunan and Hubei. During the battle with Kuomintang reactionaries such as Zhang Chaowu, Zhao Yan discovered a group of mysterious people who were drawing precise maps in the mountains of western Hunan and Hubei under the name of investigation.
