Shadaogou, the source of Youshui River, is an ancient town with a history of more than 800 years. Youshui River flows from north to south close to the town, and the town is built close to the west bank of the river. It is known as "the key point that controls Sichuan and Hunan and guards the throat of western Hubei". Yu Shangzhong, the owner of Yujia Inn by the ferry, wanted to provide food to the Red Army who were besieged by heavy enemy troops in the deep mountains and old forests of the snow-covered mountains. His younger brother sacrificed his young life in order to distract the enemies. The area in western Hunan and Hubei is an old revolutionary area and the red homeland.
