唐宋八大家文钞(全三册)
Translated And Annotated By Lu Mingtao, Zhu Yuchen, And Han Li
The "Eight Great Masters of Tang and Song Dynasty" refers to the eight writers who were very successful in the history of prose creation during the Tang and Song Dynasties. They are Han Yu and Liu Zongyuan in the Tang Dynasty, and Ouyang Xiu, Su Xun, Su Shi, Su Che, Wang Anshi and Zeng Gong in the Song Dynasty. The Eight Great Masters of the Tang and Song Dynasties used their respective creative practices to put prose back on the path of being accessible and reflective of real life, and had a huge impact on later generations. Although the 19-volume "Eight Great Masters of Tang and Song Dynasty" compiled by Zhang Boxing in the Qing Dynasty has the same name as the 164-volume "Eight Great Masters of Tang and Song Dynasty" edited by Mao Kun in the Ming Dynasty, the selection only has 317 articles, which is more suitable in length. This compilation of the three complete editions is based on the edition published by Zhengyi Tang Bookstore in the 8th year of Tongzhi's reign, with reference to the collections of each of the eight famous schools. The original text is preserved as much as possible in the original appearance of the Zhengyi Tang edition. In addition to the main text, the original preface, citations, biographies, and comments that help readers understand and explore in depth are also retained. In addition to drawing on existing research results, the annotation also contains new ideas in terms of textual research on characters and deeds, as well as in the interpretation of the main theme of the article.
