This book selects eleven of Maugham's more representative short stories, such as "The Kite", "Red Hair", "Before the Banquet", "The Man Who Swallowed the Magic Fruit", etc. Looking at many of Maugham's short stories, his works are very storytelling, usually with foreshadowing, suspense, climax and aftermath. Maugham had a frank personality and often made statements in his creations.
