Seven years after their breakup, the male protagonist Chen Yu encounters his ex-girlfriend Lin Xiaoyu and discovers that she has married into a wealthy family, but is trapped in surveillance and domestic violence by her husband Shen Zheng. Lin Xiaoyu took the risk to deliver a distress note, and Chen Yu sneaked into the mansion to steal criminal evidence, and finally assisted the police in bringing Shen Zheng to justice.

The protagonist Lin Wan (45 years old, full-time housewife) discovered that her husband Zhou Jianming (48 years old, corporate executive) had made frequent transfers to an account named "Su Xiao" in the past six months, totaling more than 500,000. Su Xiao is a 20-year-old sophomore at a certain university, in the same school and department as Lin Wan's daughter Zhou Yue. Lin Wan handles family affairs calmly on the surface, but in fact she hides a secret: she can touch other people's common objects and see the fragments of their most recent emotions (such as ecstasy, guilt, fear). This ability quietly awakened after a car accident ten years ago, and she never told anyone.
