"Wei Liao Zi" is a military book written by Wei Liao during the Warring States Period. It opposed superstition in ghosts and gods, advocated relying on human wisdom, and had simple materialist ideas. "Sima Fa" is a military book written by Sima Ranju, a military strategist of the Qi State during the Spring and Autumn Period. Five surviving chapters explain the basic theories of war and principles of military management, and record the pre-Qin military system, military orders, military etiquette, etc. "Sun Bin's Art of War" is a military book written by the strategist Sun Bin during the Warring States Period. It mainly records Sun Bin's deeds, remarks and military thoughts.

It is a miscellaneous history of different countries, also called the "Spring and Autumn" external biography, and is listed as a work explaining the "Spring and Autumn" together with the "Zuo Zhuan".
