Volumes 1 and 2 of this book mainly focus on diet therapy, diet preparation, and dietary taboos, and list 15 major categories such as health care and taboos, rare and exotic delicacies, various decoctions, food for gods, and diet therapy for various diseases. Volume 3 contains about 200 kinds of food and medicinal herbs, with illustrations, one by one introducing the nature, flavor, and main treatments. The whole book is self-contained, well illustrated and of great value. This translation and annotation is based on the photocopied Ming Jingtai edition of the "Sibu Series" and is included in our company's "Translation and Annotation Series of Ancient Chinese Scientific and Technological Masterpieces".
