During World War II, U. S. Air Force officer David Barry was sent to fight in Burma. Together with his comrades, he took advantage of the chaotic situation during the war to smuggle gold, bonds and other scarce goods to make huge profits. After the war, he cleverly brought his belongings back to the United States. Unexpectedly, he got involved in a fight as soon as he landed and died in prison after serving eight years. Before going to prison, Barry had hidden the mysterious treasure and refused to tell anyone. After his cellmate Little Allen was released from prison, he came to Barry's house, hooked up with his daughter Kathy, and gradually explored and found the whereabouts of the treasure, swept it away and disappeared without a trace. Casey, whose family was in ruins and had no one to rely on, found Travis McGee, an unlicensed ranger detective who was hanging out at the beach, and asked him to help him recover the stolen goods. What McGee has to face is an unknown treasure, a clueless tracking, and a cunning, cruel and evil opponent.
