平安时代(岩波日本史第三卷)
(japan) Hodachi Michihisa
Since Emperor Kanmu moved the capital to Heian-kyo in 794, Japan has entered the Heian period. During the four hundred years from the end of the eighth century to the end of the twelfth century, the court nobles of Kyoto enjoyed prosperity and luxury, but political disputes, large and small, never ceased. This book "The Heian Period" is the third volume of "History of Iwanami Japan". It takes the inheritance and in-law relationships of the thirty-first emperors of the Heian Period as the main axis. It details the confrontations and struggles that occurred within and between the royal family, nobles, samurai and other forces surrounding the struggle for royal power. It provides us with a new perspective on interpreting the history of the Heian Period. Based on the perspective of political history, the author Michikatsu Hodachi also covers socioeconomic history and the history of foreign relations. He takes the tradition of the "new system" and "virtuous government" promulgated by the emperor after his accession to the throne during the Heian period as a key clue. He "centers on the history of the imperial family to describe the Heian period" and describes this magnificent and colorful four hundred years of history.
