Memories of Times

Memories of Times

General Fiction

Winner of the French Fénéon Literary Prize (1957), it is a unique novel of the French New Novel School. "Memories of Time" skillfully uses the decomposition and combination of time, in the form of a diary, through the tracking of a mystery case and the review of a love, to record the exploration, resistance and recollection of the protagonist, French young Jacques, in a maze-like city in England. The paragraph layout of the work is ingenious and full of formality and symbolism; the ups and downs of suspense, exotic sentiments, religious metaphors, etc. Presented in the work make it different from the New Novel School novels that are generally believed to have "no plot and no main characters".
