"Twenty Love Poems and a Song of Despair" is Neruda's masterpiece of love poetry. When it was published in 1924, the poet was 20 years old. In this collection of poems, Neruda wrote classic poems such as: "Love is so short, forgetting is so long", "I like when you are silent, because you seem to be absent", expressing the lingering ultimate romance and praising youth, travel and love.
