I wanted to be anyone, someone passing by, no one knew anything about him. The hero of "The Autocrat" strictly implemented my dream. My desire to change my identity came from my mother. She would sometimes forget her children's names, and she would call me Claude, Juliet, Emilie... It was funny and made me think about writing a novel about it. For me, writing is like jumping into the unknown, jumping into the so-called blank slate. Every time I venture out, I gain a little bit of territory.
