About This Novel
I wanted to be anyone, someone passing by, no one knew anything about him. The hero of "The Autocrat" strictly implemented my dream. My desire to change my identity came from my mother. She would sometimes forget her children's names, and she would call me Claude, Juliet, Emilie... It was funny and made me think about writing a novel about it. For me, writing is like jumping into the unknown, jumping into the so-called blank slate. Every time I venture out, I gain a little bit of territory. I try my best to push the boundaries of what can be said and what cannot be said further, and expand the scope of what can be said, in order to show that I am a pioneer. Every December I reread my works and pick one. People like me, who are in a very resistant state when writing, must let them sit quietly for a few months...
