Nate's life used to be simple: she carried her sword, rode her horse, and guarded Her Majesty and her homeland on the battlefield.
Those days were hard, but they made Nate feel content and happy.
When she returned from battle, she could rest her head on Her Majesty's lap and quietly enjoy that rare peace, like an innocent little puppy.
Then one day, a powerful nation, almost impossible to defeat, swept in from the west and shattered that dreamlike life.
To protect her homeland, Nate fought on the battlefield until the very end.
As she lay dying, she watched the enemy's iron hooves cross the city gates, yet no matter what she did, she could not close her eyes.
“If there really are gods in this world... I beg you, please give me one more chance to wield my sword,” she thought, unwilling to accept her fate.
She awoke from the darkness, thinking the gods had heard her plea. But when she looked closely, she discovered she had arrived in another world, one with strange energy fluctuations and a strict hierarchy.
“I hear that if you become an S-rank Sentinel or Guide and reach the Master of the Tower at the center of the world, any wish can come true.”
At those words, Nate solemnly fastened her longsword to her waist.
“A D-rank Sentinel thinks she can reach the Tower?” someone sneered. “You don't even have a Guide. What makes you think you can?”
Nate pressed her lips together and looked at him with her glass-like left eye.
“My sword and my heart.”
