[So I write this diary, to comfort the heart that has long since fallen silent.]
After escaping from that lightless laboratory, He Er kept turning over new questions in his mind.
He didn't understand the rules of survival in this world.
And...
Had he really escaped?
There was no point in thinking too much. He had to step into this world.
No, more accurately, someone had dragged him into it by force, without giving him a choice.
Since he was here, he had to make the best of it. As an outsider, he had to firmly establish his identity, and never let anyone suspect that he wasn't human!
But the script he'd been given meant he was bound to have his cover blown.
"I'm not human, and I'm not even a thing."
"Oh... you're not a thing?"
"Right. I'm not a thing."
He'd been tricked.
He was a thing, and he was a person.
A certain shameless fellow hadn't even had time to stop smiling before He Er dragged him off to fight.
But He Er really did wonder whether he counted as a person.
After all, if someone kept pestering a normal person to date them, they'd have thrown the other person outside to feed the monsters long ago. He'd actually kept the guy by his side!
How absurd.
So... what exactly was this diary recording?
A few notes about this story:
1. Captain Jiang and Xiao Er have an extremely strong mutual-love arrow! They won't be split up! They won't switch roles!
2. Strictly speaking, Captain Jiang isn't an officer, and Xiao Er isn't a soft, cute bottom.
3. The setting is entirely fictional, and none of the characters are based on real people, whether supporting or main characters! No real-life inspirations! No real-life inspirations! No real-life inspirations! (Important things are said three times!)
4. The story is a side arc taken from an infinite-flow story I'm currently planning. Main-story characters may appear later, but they won't have much to do with this story and won't affect your reading experience.
5. Every character is the best version of themselves.
6. I'm writing this for fun. Please don't argue.
7. Don't compare characters. I don't play favorites, and I'll make sure every character suffers equally and then gets a happy ending.
*This story is entirely fictional. Any resemblance to actual people or events is purely coincidental.
