Blurb:
Li Fengchi was renowned as a child prodigy in Yangzhou from an early age. He passed the provincial examination at twelve, and at seventeen became the first top scholar in the dynasty's history to achieve the highest honors in all three examinations. Not long after coming of age, he married Meng Qinghe, the daughter of the Minister of Personnel. By the age of thirty, he had risen to the position of chancellor, becoming the youngest in the dynasty's history.
Everyone in the capital spoke of Chancellor Li with admiration. If there was one flaw in his seemingly perfect life, it was that Lady Meng had died young, leaving Chancellor Li a widower.
His colleagues worried themselves sick over his marital prospects. Today, a daughter of the Zhou family would bring him food; tomorrow, a niece of the Wang family would bring him clothes. An elderly minister with white hair even came to share, in mysterious tones, the delights of "a pear blossom weighing down a crabapple." Li Fengchi looked down on it all and was thoroughly fed up.
Yet just a few days later, someone saw Chancellor Li forcibly dragging a young woman inside, after which neither of them came out again! The whole capital was in an uproar. Was... was this really Chancellor Li?
Qinghe felt that no one in the world had it worse than she did. She had counted down the days until her college entrance exams were over, ready to let loose, only to end up in the hospital for two years after a car accident!
After finally waking up and being discharged, she fell asleep and somehow awoke in a desolate wilderness, surrounded by graves!
Before she could even gather her wits, a rambling woman grabbed her hand and insisted that she was her daughter, risen from the dead!
Qinghe's eyes nearly popped out of her head. She could only turn to the man beside her for help, but he also claimed she was the woman's daughter, and his lawfully wedded wife! Even more shocking, this man was the renowned chancellor whose name she had just underlined in her history book!
Qinghe's vision went black. They were all crazy... every last one of them...
Reader's guide:
1. The leads have a 12-year age gap. The male lead is 32 and the female lead is 20.
2. This is not a romance-only, fluffy sweet story. The plot and romance are roughly evenly balanced, and the romance develops slowly.
3. The female lead is the same person from beginning to end.
Blurb for the upcoming novel:
A portrait in the National Museum of China sparks Yize's interest in a handsome young man. She begins investigating his life, never expecting to become utterly captivated by him.
At dusk, a white silk scarf of mist drifts over the road; by the ferry, one treads silver sand beneath the fading snow.
In an age when the Qing dynasty was still beset by foreign powers, brilliant generals and wise rulers worked together, their hearts in accord, to forge China's might.
A car accident sends Zhang Yize from the modern era back two hundred years, to the thirteenth year of the Qianlong reign, where she becomes Zhangjia Yize, a female official serving Empress Xiaoxian. That year, the empress is gravely ill, and Zhang Yize first meets Fucha Mingrui when he comes to visit her: the handsome young man from the portrait. She hears her heart pounding clearly. After crossing two centuries, it still skips a beat.
She has suddenly been transported to the side of the historical figure she fell in love with in the modern era, and she does not know how to face him. She wants to change his fate, knowing he is destined to die young, but she is powerless...
This is a story whose tragic ending is clear from the title, so read with caution if that's not for you.
The heroine's love is one-sided from beginning to end. She watches the man she loves move step by step toward his fated end, unable to stop it. A tragic, bittersweet story.
Theme: One person, for a lifetime
My Wife Is Still Young is Xiao Ce'an's love story, right? How come it became the name of someone else's novel?
I don't like this novel because of the obsession of her family and the male protagonist. The female protagonist has returned from modern times. In modern times, she has passed the college entrance examination and went to university. Relatively speaking, she has more freedom, and life is more convenient. Modern people also have parents. Why go to ancient times? Leave all the familiar people and things and shut yourself up in the backyard. Thinking about it makes you suffocate.
The author will update soon. I hope that in order to woo the heroine, the male protagonist of Flower of the High Mountain will be able to make green tea and be very scheming. It makes me sad to think about it. It is better to kick off his beard and dress younger. In order to dress himself up as young, the old man seduces the female protagonist. It makes me sad to think about it.
The only drawback is that the male protagonist is a bit old. I think of Lao Deng with a beard. I hope that in the future, the male protagonist will start to clean up himself and become younger in order to pursue the female protagonist.
Hey hey hey, what's the age difference? 🤩 Can you keep this beard forever 😍 🙏
I like looking at the age difference, I like looking at older men 😍, this beard setting will keep it for me 😍
"As the door was pushed open, Li Fengchi, who was still wearing official uniform, walked in slowly. Although there were faint lines at the end of his eyes, his years of experience in the court made him elegant and calm. The purple official uniform also made him more noble. I have to say that this old man is quite tasteful. Of course, the premise is that the two characters "horoscope" are ignored by the author~ Can the mustache be removed? It's a bit funny hahahahaha
