Synopsis
1.
Xie Yuntai transmigrated into a book, only to become the tutor of the villainous Crown Prince. As luck would have it, both the protagonist and the villain were his students.
Xie Yuntai: "..."
According to the plot, in less than five years the villain would have him beaten to death in open court.
What a hard life. Tutor Xie wiped away a bitter tear.
To stay alive, Xie Yuntai decided to keep both the protagonist and the villain close and teach them himself.
2.
The Grand Tutor of the dynasty was a man of celestial grace. It was a pity that his legs were broken. They said he had ruined them by kneeling in the snow all night for the Crown Prince.
Xie Yuntai looked at the protagonist sobbing into his knees and the villain standing nearby with his head bowed in silence. His head throbbed. He could only comfort them one at a time, saying,
"It's good that I'm crippled. Now your teacher will have time to stay home and watch you study."
Yet despite all his careful planning, he never expected the villain and the protagonist to join forces and lock him up on the eve of the coronation.
Tan Pingzhi, eyes red, slowly forced his former mentor into a corner.
"The person I hate most in this life is the Grand Tutor."
The man in the wheelchair was gaunt and frail, his body ravaged by illness. Only the weary smile in his eyes still hinted at the gentle, tender days of the past. He sat silently in his wheelchair for a long while before finally looking up.
"In my life, there is only one thing I can take pride in."
"That is having taught two fine students."
3.
Xie Yuntai frantically pounded on the System in his mind.
"What is going on?"
The System said the worldline had completely collapsed. Since they couldn't win, why not run? Host, let's start over.
On New Year's Eve of Zhengming Year Twenty-Nine, the Grand Tutor fell to his death from a tower. No one knew how a half-paralyzed man had managed to climb to the top of the Moon-Viewing Tower.
Some said the new emperor had grown wary of the Grand Tutor and ordered him pushed from the tower. Others said the Grand Tutor was an immortal who had returned to heaven after his work in the mortal world was done.
"If you ask me, the Grand Tutor must have been sick of living. Who wouldn't want to die after dealing with two brats every day?"
Xie Shisan raised his bowl and clinked it against the blind man's. He downed his medicine in one gulp. The blind man paused slightly, his hand still holding his own medicine.
"How do you know he had two disciples?"
Xie Yun... Xie Shisan kept a straight face as he made something up.
"I dreamed it."
The blind man was breathtakingly beautiful, and Shisan was bored. Delighted to have a beauty for company, the two spent half a month sightseeing. Just as the blind man's sight was about to return, the shameless Xie Shisan claimed he had business at home, abandoned him at the clinic, and hurried off alone.
Half a month later, the sickly young marquis of the Northern Guardian Marquis's household was summoned to the capital by an urgent decree. The court and commoners alike speculated that the Northern Guardian Marquis's family had become too powerful, and the emperor had summoned their only son to keep him close as a hostage.
A hostage was fine by him. Xie Shisan lounged comfortably in his big bed. It wasn't so bad.
That is, until rumors spread through the palace that the young marquis was throwing his weight around because of the emperor's favor, relying on his resemblance to the Grand Tutor, and had submitted himself to the emperor for the sake of glory.
That couldn't be right, could it?
First of all, when had he ever thrown his weight around? And how did looking like the Grand Tutor have anything to do with submitting himself to the emperor?
Realizing something was wrong, Xie Shisan planned to run away that very night, but it was too late. The emperor personally locked him inside the bedchamber. Xie Yuntai was carried around the warm chamber, each step bringing more intense, inescapable pressure.
"Tan... Pingzhi!"
The villain chuckled. He lowered his head, his nose brushing against Xie Yuntai's slender, delicate neck. His voice was gentle and considerate.
"So you do remember my name. I thought you'd forgotten it long ago."
"After all, you didn't recognize me when you left me alone at the clinic."
"Are you going to run away again, Master?"
