She couldn't have picked a worse time to seek refuge at the Duke's residence. Before she arrived, the third daughter of her eldest uncle's family had just been thrown out in disgrace after trying and failing to seduce the young heir.
So her arrival at that moment left her in an awkward position, and put the Duke's second wife, her own maternal aunt, in a difficult spot as well.
[Note: Both leads have been with other people, and each has a child. I haven't decided whether this will be a series yet. The angst will be lighter than in my other two series, but it won't be easygoing. The ending is neither a happy ending nor a bad ending.]
