[Gods + Cards + Worldbuilding + Everyone's Darling]
Also known as How Come All the Gods Love Me? and Lord of Earth
He Ran went hiking with friends one weekend and was caught in a landslide. She closed her eyes, opened them again, and found herself on Earth more than a hundred million years in the future.
By then, interstellar development had advanced at a terrifying pace. Humanity had collectively migrated to more developed star systems, leaving Earth, drained of every last resource, completely abandoned.
The lush tropical rainforests of old and the blue oceans had all turned into dry, yellow wasteland. All life was gone.
The ozone layer had been destroyed, and He Ran nearly roasted alive the moment she landed. Luckily, a panel suddenly appeared before her:

She tapped it. The next second, an ozone layer appeared above her head, usable only by her, and shaped like a crown.
He Ran: All right, all right. She's become the Lord of Earth.
She threw herself into developing the planet, determined to restore it to its original, healthy state. The card pool's offerings went from "saplings" and "fish fry" to "Sea God," "Rain God," "Tree God," "Thunder God"...
The Sea God was a shriveled water snake, the Rain God a tiny jellyfish the size of a finger, the Tree God a little wooden carving that ran around everywhere, and the Thunder God a bolt of lightning that loved to stir up trouble.
Besides them, there were all kinds of other gods...
[Contracting with gods can speed up reconstruction!]
Looking at these pitiful little things, He Ran was full of doubt. Could they really help her rebuild Earth?
Not long afterward:
The shriveled water snake became an enchanting snake beauty. Its thick, long tail coiled around her waist, and its hot, damp kisses trailed along her neck. A vast school of fish swam past them as the depths of the ocean trembled during their embrace.
The finger-sized jellyfish became a pale, delicate beauty. She lay beside He Ran and gently licked her arm, leaving behind the jellyfish's marking fluid. Together they rose into the sky with the rain, looking down as the dryness vanished from every inch of land.
The little wooden carving that ran around everywhere became a towering tree giant. He stood up and lifted He Ran above his head, so she could see the boundless green covering the Earth. His branches and leaves affectionately blossomed with the first little flower of spring just for her.
The entire interstellar community watched as Earth climbed higher and higher on the ranking of planets across the universe, until it finally claimed the number-one spot!
How could that be? Wasn't Earth the universe's famously useless planet?
