At a dinner party after returning to the country, Tan Hui steps out to take a call and unexpectedly finds a woman at the door.
The woman reeks of alcohol and looks utterly wretched.
Behind her tangled hair, a pair of bleary, drunken eyes stare fixedly at Tan Hui. Suddenly, she grabs Tan Hui's hand and demands, "Who are you talking to?"
Tan Hui smiles, her detached gaze lingering on the face she hasn't seen in years.
At last, she gently pries the woman's fingers from her wrist and says lightly, "That's none of your business."

As they spent more time together, Tan Hui's feelings changed without her realizing it.

Unfortunately, she didn't hide the notebook well. Her furious mother packed her off overseas.
Her studies abroad kept her busy. The next time she heard news from home, Lin Jinglu was planning to get engaged.

The next day, in the bright morning light, she woke from her dream.
She wired her savings as a wedding gift and blocked her first love.

After all these years apart, Tan Hui never expected her old first love's carefully cultivated image to keep crumbling, as she started showing up at Tan Hui's door every day, completely unlike her old self.
A poised, aloof director in public, but one harsh word from Tan Hui in private and she's in tears.
Tan Hui is exhausted. Once again, she patiently explains that she has closed her heart to love.
In the middle of the night, Tan Hui sleepily turns over and opens her eyes.
In the darkness, her first love holds her phone and asks in a hollow voice, "Who are these rich ladies numbered 1 through 6?"
