Blood symbolizes vitality and new beginnings.
Chen Jinglan admits his motives for becoming a student mentor were impure: he wanted to get close to that pale, aloof, impossibly handsome junior.
He never knew his heart could beat so fast, or his gaze could linger on one person for so long.
It was as if all the blood in his body were boiling.
Blood also represents predation and death.
His junior was naturally cold, but Chen Jinglan refused to believe there was no way in. If fate didn't give him an opportunity, he would manufacture one!
Only when sharp teeth pierced his skin and blood gushed out did he understand what it meant to bring disaster upon yourself.
