Hi! I'm Zhi Zhi, 21 years old, with severe social anxiety and an obsession with the supernatural. I go to class during the day and curl up on the top bunk in my dorm at night, tapping away at my keyboard. My headphones are always playing rain sounds and Night Parade of One Hundred Demons.
I started writing Long Night of Ten Thousand Ghosts because one night during a thunderstorm, I turned off all the lights in my dorm, hoping to scare myself. And then I really! Did! See! A dripping-wet shadow standing at the foot of my bed. I screamed, and the shadow trembled. It seemed even more socially anxious than I was. At that moment, I suddenly thought: Ghosts are afraid of awkward situations too, huh?
So I brought Liu Xiao, Gu Bei, and Old Song along to help me feel braver. The three of them combined aren't even as brave as the tapioca pearls in my bubble tea, but every time we venture into a haunted realm, I feel like I've managed to pack away a little bit of my fear.
If you're still going "hahaha" by the time you get here, keep reading. If your spine starts tingling later on... congratulations, you've officially joined my [Late-Night Screaming Club]!
