My life began in a March dawn, when wind and flowers were entwined in affection. Sadly, the streets and alleys of Yokohama held no lush green growth, and all that remained in my memories was the irregular chill of early spring.
The wind carried the breath of green pines towering above the mountain peaks, but no one clasped my hand around the fragile snow gathered on a pine branch at the start of spring.
"At least you survived. You can watch this sorrowful world cycle endlessly between oxidation and reduction, wander between injury and healing, and linger between death and new life in my place."
So, am I lucky? I suppose I am.
There is so much Selene doesn't understand, so Rimbaud patiently takes her hand and guides her forward. Like a child just learning to walk, she is bewildered, but at least she has not yet lost the ability to learn.
Selene has lost so much, so Nakahara Chuuya patiently gathers up the scattered pieces of her past, one by one, and puts Selene back together. She is like a shattered moon, luminous, but sadly long since incapable of loving.
But that's all right. There are enough people in this world who love her.
So, is she lucky? She thinks she is lucky enough.
○ Female protagonist, all relationships are platonic
○ Since she's French, there are many France-related family bonds
○ A little angst is good for the soul. Prepare for heartbreak
○ The author doesn't ship any canon couples, so don't shove ships in my face in this female-oriented novel!!! No side couples, only platonic relationships! Don't bring up BL-related stuff!
○ Lots of original plot details in the early chapters
○ Many writers who never appeared in the original work will show up, so beware
Theme: Love her as you would tend a flower. Flowers are like the sea, and love is their nourishment
