Li Miao got divorced.
She remembered a line from a book she'd read: The only way to end a path of utter darkness is to walk all the way through it.
That day, she held her opened marriage certificate and divorce papers in her hands. The woman pictured on them was clearly the same person, yet one wore a joyful smile while the other's eyes were vacant and her face haggard. The nightmare her seven-year marriage had brought her was finally over.
From that day on, Li Miao felt she should live her life all over again...
A person's whole life is spent healing themselves. She hadn't understood that before, but now she thought it was the best way to describe life.
She learned to love herself, to appreciate herself, and to feel the wind as it blew, the rain as it fell, and the trees, flowers, grass, and earth.
It wasn't until she met him that Li Miao realized life never required anyone else's salvation. Only two souls, each whole in themselves, could accept and embrace everything about the other.
This is a story about a woman healing and saving herself.
If it resonates with you, please add it to your collection.
I'd also like to recommend my completed historical novel, You Long Ji. Please give it a look if you're interested. Thank you.
I don't know why, but I feel like writing this book has been unusually difficult. It's not that I can't empathize with the heroine. It's that some experiences are harder to write about once you've felt them yourself. Those intense feelings, all that love and hate... often, people simply can't bare their wounds for everyone to see. I don't want to write a cliched story or the kind of industrially manufactured sweetness found in so-called doting romances. Even though my writing isn't especially good, I want my story to be about a woman's growth and redemption, about her making peace with the world. I want to explore some deeper ideas. I'll take my time with it. I've been busy lately, and my train of thought keeps breaking off, but fortunately, I don't have many readers, and no one's rushing me. I'll just keep going slowly.
