[Completed. Thank you all for your company. My next novel is Slow Shutter. See the blurb at the end.]
This novel is set in the world of tea culture. The romance is slow-burning, with a gentle, gradual pace.
Chu Yun was once a rising star in the tea world.
Even his master said
that his hands were born to make jasmine tea.
But three years ago, that star became shrouded in dust, its brilliance faded.
1. A friend who never drank tea dragged Fu Yanheng to a teahouse.
Friend: “Don't you think the owner is really handsome? The first time I saw him, it felt like my heart got hit.”
Fu Yanheng: “Then you should make an appointment with a cardiologist.”
His friend ground his teeth in anger, thinking Fu Yanheng was the one who needed to see an eye doctor.
The cup of jasmine tea he drank that day stayed in Fu Yanheng's thoughts for a long time.
But later, the person who had made that jasmine tea became the one he longed for with all his heart.
2. One day, a photo appeared in Fu Yanheng's otherwise empty social media feed:
His hand was interlaced with another long, elegant hand,
and each of their ring fingers wore two rings stacked together.
The caption was simple: A proposal between kindred spirits.
Friend: So, I'm part of your little game???
“Yesterday the east wind blew on the trifoliate orange blossoms. I woke from wine late in spring to a bowl of tea.”
Walking alone through this world, we have little, yet somehow seem to keep losing things. Wine is too intoxicating, while plain water is too dull. Better to drink a bowl of tea and pass through the ceaseless spring rain amid its fragrance and spirit.
This is probably a story about two people who seemed to have nothing to do with each other, but whose fates became entwined through various twists of chance. They save each other, escape the shadows of the past, and eventually become the one and only person in each other's lives.
The top fell in love with the bottom at first sight and kept drawing closer, until the bottom gradually fell for him. Because of his past experiences, the bottom likes to keep people at a distance. The other suitors all rushed things, but only the top patiently led him out of the shadows of the past.
Strategic pursuer / rises to the top through sheer ability / big bad wolf top X calm as a chrysanthemum / keeps strangers at arm's length / gentle but sharp bottom
CEO X tea maker
Fu Yanheng (top) X Chu Yun (bottom)
[If you enjoy the story, please bookmark it to support this author. I'll keep improving. Many thanks.]
Reading Guide:
1. The story leans toward the bottom's perspective. The bottom has a tendency to be adored by everyone, and is beautiful, strong, yet tragic.
2. Because of the bottom's personality, the romance develops slowly at first. In the middle and later parts, once they get together, there will be plenty of romantic interactions.
3. The early part of the story focuses heavily on revenge and career development.
4. Both leads are each other's only partners.
5. The professional details are based on research. Please point out any errors.
6. The entire novel is written in advance, so you can read with confidence.
Blurb for Slow Shutter:
1. They met again backstage at a fashion show.
One was a hot new photographer making waves in the industry, the other an internationally renowned designer who had built his career from scratch.
Someone smiled and introduced Shen Liao: “Sorly, this is the designer I told you about, Kailas.”
In front of everyone, Shen Liao smiled and held out his hand. “It's a pleasure to meet you, Kailas Ji.”
Ji Yingqiao stared at those smiling, peach-blossom eyes, then finally clasped the other's hand, his expression so calm they could have been strangers.
But no one knew that through the more than eighteen hundred nights they'd been apart, he had dreamed of those eyes: smiling, tender, dazzling, filled with desire... cold and cruel.
2. Seeing his ex-boyfriend for the first time in five years, Shen Liao wasn't nearly as composed as he appeared.
Their breakup had been ugly, leaving them both battered and bruised.
But he never expected that just four hours later, he would run into Ji Yingqiao again, of all people.
In a noisy bar, a handsome white man sat beside him and slid him a room key with a suggestive expression. Shen Liao's smile didn't waver. Just as he was about to refuse, he looked up and saw a tall figure some distance away, silently watching him.
Shen Liao's smile froze. Help, where did this ghost come from?
3. Shen Liao was a womanizer to the core.
A friend asked him, “I can tell you still have feelings for your ex. Why did you break up?”
Shen Liao smiled, his voice gentle. “Love is like a bouquet. Given enough time, it wilts and fades. So why not leave it at its most beautiful?”
Until he met Ji Yingqiao.
Shen Liao and Ji Yingqiao had a passionate, all-consuming relationship.
The man who had always been best at keeping things within limits broke his own rules for the first time and let himself sink into it.
As if heaven were punishing Shen Liao, the relationship eventually fell apart.
From then on, oceans separated them and they lived in different countries. In the blink of an eye, five years had passed.
4. “The day before we broke up, I saw a photograph at an exhibition. It had been taken with a slow shutter speed. Everything was distorted and warped, and the people in it had lost their original forms.”
“Only then did I suddenly realize how ridiculous everything I'd held on to had been. I was so obsessed with prolonging the moments we were in love that I made us both unrecognizable.”
His last shred of composure was hanging by a thread. Ji Yingqiao laughed, his voice hoarse. “So are you going to break up with me again, Shen Liao?”
“No. I love you, Ji Yingqiao.”
Shen Liao smiled. “You made me understand the true meaning of a slow shutter...”
“The genuine union of two souls, an eternal hope amid the haze and emptiness.”
“No one has ever truly entered my heart the way you have. So even after five years, after 1,825 days, I still can't forget you.”

It's beautiful, thank you to the author for bringing a heart-warming story
I read the full text very smoothly. Although the author and the teacher said that his article has shortcomings, as a long-time reader, I still highly affirm the teacher's article. Not only the writing style, but also the emotions; not only the emotions written in the writing, but also the emotions contained in the words. Counting the days, I guess the teacher will be on vacation soon. Anyway, although I rarely write comments, it is your first article after all. Thinking about it, it is better to leave one, because I believe that every comment may be a support and encouragement to you. I wish not only them in the article, but also you, the teacher, all the best, and I hope that the next article will be liked by more people! [Spread flowers]
The novel is over, but their story is not. I wish you, me and him both inside and outside the book can be happy.
Very interesting! I really want to see the Secretary-General's reaction [Cat Head]
Ah? Xiao Chu is actually the master's child [fear]
Oriental Beauty is also my favorite tea. It's such a surprise to see this [Cat's Claw]
I like this slow-paced work very much. It is very comfortable to read overall. Kudos to the author!
