Indulged

Lan Ruosheng resorted to a scheme and became Zhao You's father-consort.

At first, he was secretly pleased, thinking, What a fool, too stupid to tell good from bad. He treats a weasel like a Bodhisattva. From here on, things will go however I want.

Later, he fell in love, but Zhao You's wooden manner always frustrated him. Only then did he realize that being his father-consort was the greatest and deepest obstacle between them.

He could neither have what he wanted nor let go. He could neither draw close nor keep his distance.

The father-consort identity he'd relied on had finally become his greatest obstacle.
