Story One:
After Tong Xi dies, she arrives in a strange place and meets someone adorable.
He has never eaten cake or played games, and there's a bit of a communication gap between him and other people. Yet he dresses himself up like a little peacock.
The little peacock expresses his affection with verbal blessings. Tong Xi usually laughs, pinches his cheek, and asks if he's making her empty promises.
Only later does Tong Xi learn that the little peacock has very little, but gives her the best of what he has.

After Shen Xihe dies, he arrives at a school and meets a little firebrand. The firebrand calls him pretty, then inexplicably says he hates him.
He hates it when Shen Xihe stays up late. He hates it when Shen Xihe skips breakfast. He hates it even more when Shen Xihe gets hurt.
Amused by him, Shen Xihe asks what he can do to make him stop hating him.
