Strangers before the wedding | Six-year age gap | They fall for each other
Profit-driven conglomerate boss x dazzling, flirtatious jade designer
Li Fei and Qi Heng had met only once before they got married.
At a gala, he showed up uninvited just as she suffered a sudden bout of stomach pain.
Amid the clinking glasses, the man beside her glanced over. “There are fewer than three people here who are still sober.”
Li Fei could only say, “I’d appreciate your help.”
The next time they met, Qi Heng paid far above market price for the purple jade she’d been eyeing for six months. Unwilling to give up, she chased after him.
The car window rolled down, and the person inside met her gaze. “We meet again, Miss Li.”
She pointed to the purple jade beside him. “Mr. Qi, would you be willing to part with it?”
He replied nonchalantly, “I never make a deal at a loss.”
Her eyes lit up. “Name anything you want, as long as it’s within my power.”
“If I needed a wife, would you agree to that too, Miss Li?”

Their marriage surprised no one. The very next day, they hurried to register it.
They had three rules for married life: help each other deal with their elders, don’t interfere in each other’s affairs, and don’t fall in love.
Who could have guessed that she would “take advantage” of him on the very night they got married?
Neither of them brought it up afterward. Everything went on as usual.
Qi Heng thought it was nothing more than a business marriage, with each of them getting what they needed. That is, until one day he saw his new wife laughing wildly amid the bright lights and revelry, surrounded by a crowd of admirers.
Qi Heng’s gaze darkened. Without a word, he had someone cut the lights.
In the darkness, he caught Li Fei’s hand.
Li Fei recognized him. “What are you doing?”
Qi Heng pulled her into his arms and whispered reproachfully, “A Li, can any of them take care of you as well as I can?”
That night, the man who was always so composed finally lost control. He kept tempting her, kneeling halfway in front of the sofa and slowly sliding his hands up from her foot. His kisses and voice fell upon her together.
“A Li, tell me you like me. Tell me I’m the only one you like.”
*
In thirty years, Qi Heng had only acted on impulse once, and he gave that impulse to Li Fei. He was deeply drawn to her. Her personality was as passionate as a rose, with thorns to match.
Beautiful, but impossible to pluck.
He offered himself up to her, just to share in her pleasure.
