Ye You went out to sea aboard a crab-fishing boat.
She was fussy by nature and hard to please. She stared at the cold, fishy fish in front of her and stubbornly refused to touch it.
Crewman L. rolled his eyes. "Not eating? Fine, starve to death."
Ye You rolled her eyes back. "What's it to you?"
A few days later, L. brought Ye You freshly grilled fish, fragrant and golden, with four kinds of seasoning.
He draped an arm over the back of her chair, his tall frame nearly enclosing her, and spoke to her in somewhat clumsy Chinese. "Ye You, your hand is badly injured. Let me feed you."
Ye You's heart raced, and her face flushed.
While chatting with a coworker, Ye You was "coaxed" by L. into saying, "I like dragons."
L. smiled in satisfaction, then calmly revealed his secret to Ye You.
As she watched L. sprout fiery red slit-pupil eyes, scales, and a tail in an instant...
Ye You forced a smile and praised him over and over. "Dude, that's amazing. You can do magic tricks, too!"
In truth, her legs were trembling as she thought:
We only kissed once. I don't have to take responsibility, do I?
Should she hide in the storage room, or would jumping straight into the sea give her a better chance of surviving!?
