As a vampire, Ryan never claimed to be kind.

But he was forced to take in a young vampire of his own kind. Whatever, he would raise him like a dog.

When he was in a good mood, he offered the boy a little pity. When he was displeased, he vented his anger on the innocent life before him.

Back then, Ryan never imagined that years later, he would fall into a dog's trap.

"I thought I already kicked you out?"

Ryan lazily lifted an eyelid, his face calm and utterly devoid of emotion.

His family had fallen, and he had neither power nor influence. He was so utterly penniless it was laughable, the kind of person even a dog would turn its nose up at.

Aigelos stood before him without a word, still as irritating as ever. His eyes, though, were fixed intently on Ryan.

"Oh, forgive me. Perhaps I should call you 'Your Majesty' now?" Ryan smiled, but there was not the slightest respect in his voice.

"You know my health is poor. A few hits would finish me off."

"If you only captured me to get revenge, Your Merciful Majesty, why not just kill me?" He did not even bother to struggle. Extending his shackled hands, he offered casually, "If you like, you can do whatever you want with my corpse, too."

The man before him showed the faintest change in expression. Ryan thought he was about to give him a quick death, but Aigelos suddenly leaned in and silenced him with a kiss.

When the kiss ended, he licked the corner of Ryan's mouth and said in a low voice, "...An enticing proposal."

"I've dreamed of your corpse," Aigelos continued. "I held you in my arms, but your body was cold and bloodless, and you wouldn't look at me."

Ryan curled his lips into a languid, bored smile and nodded. "Who knew your dreams could predict the future?"

Aigelos smiled too. He caught Ryan by the wrist and slowly moved his hand downward.

In an instant, Ryan's smile froze.

"Want to know what else I did to you in that dream?"

Aigelos's hot breath brushed Ryan's ear.

After hearing what Aigelos said next, Ryan finally lost patience. He pulled his hand free and slapped him across the face.

"Even I have never done something like that," Ryan said stiffly. "Pervert."

But the man before him acted as if he had not heard a thing.

Only then did Ryan notice that Aigelos was breathing much harder than before. His cheeks were flushed, and even the tips of his ears had turned red.

Ryan looked down and let out a disbelieving, "You..."

"Of course I captured you for revenge," Aigelos murmured, his words brimming with a sick obsession. "To make you stay by my side..."

"...and never go anywhere."

"If you want, you can do what you did before, too." He touched the handprint Ryan had left on his face, making no effort to hide the madness in his eyes. "You did that so well, didn't you? I'm already hot."
