I'll Help Great-Grandma Rise to the Top

Why is your family so poor? After thinking it over for a long time, you decide the root of the problem must lie with your great-grandmother. In 1890, your great-grandmother illegally entered the United States through San Francisco. She worked hard her whole life, but her poor judgment and narrow vision kept her from building up any initial wealth. So you blink, and transmigrate. It's now 1891 in San Francisco. The Chinese Exclusion Act has been in effect for nine years. That means you're an undocumented immigrant in the eyes of the law, liable to be deported to the Qing Empire at any moment. You're penniless and homeless, but here's the good news: you can turn to your great-grandmother for help. She's fifteen this year and works as a helper in Chinatown. Your main quest is to grow her business, take over Chinatown, and make your family a century-old dynasty, bringing prosperity to countless generations of descendants, including you, of course. 1.
