A bookish top who thinks everyone hates her and is so emotionally dense it's maddening x a sickly, gloomy, possessive bottom who pretends to be a sweet, innocent girl
Zhou You x Shen Huaici
Zhou You is Wen Jin's lackey, always ready to do whatever she's told.
But she doesn't want to be Wen Jin's lackey. She likes Wen Jin and wants to be her girlfriend.
But the lofty Miss Wen is out of her league. After six years of unrequited love, all Zhou You gets is: "Zhou You is nothing but a well-behaved dog at my side."
Pathetic as she is, Zhou You continues to follow Wen Jin as if she knows nothing, until she accidentally learns that she's only a minor cannon-fodder character in a book.
Wen Jin, meanwhile, is the book's number-one villainess. She falls for her rival, the heroine Shen Huaici, but can't win her over, so she treats Zhou You as a substitute before finally kicking her to the curb.
Zhou You laughs, a bitter, furious laugh, then decisively cuts off all contact with Wen Jin.
The day she decides to stop contacting Wen Jin, Zhou You walks into a bar, gets dead drunk, spots a beautiful waitress, and takes her upstairs to a room.
After a wild night, she wakes to find a woman with dark hair and pale skin lying beside her, a cool, delicate beauty mark beneath her eye. It's none other than the heroine, Shen Huaici.
Distraught, Zhou You wants to agree with her that it was just an accident, but Shen Huaici tearfully demands that she take responsibility.
Instead of sleeping with the villainess as in the original plot, she ends up in the heroine's bed.
But why is Shen Huaici nothing like the original book, clinging to her day and night, crying that Zhou You is a heartless player if she won't kiss or hug her?
And why does Wen Jin keep finding excuses to touch and rub against her, putting an arm around her neck and saying she misses her, while growing even more hostile toward Shen Huaici?
Caught between the two of them, Zhou You is utterly miserable.
After graduation, Zhou You makes a quick getaway. She's finally realized that the best way for a minor cannon-fodder character like her to survive is to stay away from the heroine and the villainess.
She never expected to get tangled up with them again in a foreign country.
"Zhou You, where do you think you're running off to now? I should have locked you up back then."
Shen Huaici clutches her tight, eyes red and voice dark. Before Zhou You can answer, the woman bites her lip until it breaks, then drags her toward a hotel.
But they run into Wen Jin halfway there. Her expression icy, she orders, "Zhou You, come back to me now, and I'll let bygones be bygones."
Zhou You can only say:
Heroine, get a grip. I'm not your destined love!
Villainess, you get a grip too. I'm not your lackey anymore!
Note:
1. Plenty of love-triangle drama.
2. Happy ending.
