Jindai Kanako was an heir no one wanted. Her clan had disliked her since the day she was born, and joy had nothing to do with her. Later, she found a chance to escape the suffocating estate.
An embodiment of resentment with a face exactly like hers came to her side, taking her by the hand and leading her to the divine realm. It stayed with her, taught her, cherished her, and loved her. So she thought, if the price of "brief happiness" was everything she had, perhaps it wasn't such a bad bargain.
After spending a long time together, the embodiment of resentment slowly began to change. At first glance, it still looked like her, but it was taller, more handsome, more masculine, and better able to shield her. So she thought, before offering herself as a sacrifice and letting the embodiment of resentment replace her completely, it would be a real waste not to have one last feast.
"Anna, this is my final request." She gently caressed his cheek, her eyes moist. "Let me enter your body and soul, and see your love."
The black-haired god Anna rubbed against her palm, nodded in agreement, and reached out to cut out his own heart.
Then she took him by the wrist and guided his hand lower and farther back.
She heard her say, "Before that, you need to prepare like this..."
A few brief warnings:
1. Female top, with a tagalong. The worldbuilding is made up, so don't overthink it! This is my own take on a goddess story! The male lead will become intersex later on. If that's not for you, run!
2. A sweet, doted-on heroine! The other gods dislike her at first because of a ridiculous misunderstanding! For more warnings, see the author's note in Chapter One!
3. Lots of power reversals later on! The heroine may sleep with more than just the male lead! Most of the gods don't care much about chastity! Female top, male bottom! There will be male pregnancy! Run if that's not for you!
4. There will be lots of strange, obscure characters and unusual codenames to help distinguish the gods! Nine-tenths of my gods are invented and one-tenth are rumors I've made up. Please don't associate them with any real-world deities!
