Sworn Brother

In her previous life, Sui Sui feared her sworn elder brother most of all.

Her sworn brother was a Celestial Master, the most beloved by the people of any in the dynasties. He was handsome and graceful, like an immortal, and treated others with gentle warmth. But with her alone, he was cold and distant, and exceptionally strict.

Sui Sui was afraid of him. Even after her father betrothed her to him, she did not dare treat him as her husband.

She respected him, kept her distance, and avoided him.

Even before she died of illness, she and her sworn brother remained courteous to each other, sleeping in separate rooms.

But during the ten years she spent as a wandering ghost, she saw a different side of him.

On the first day of every month, her sworn brother would come alone to visit her grave.

With a cold expression, he would tell her grave which official had fallen before the throne in the Golden Hall, and complain that the cook had put in too much salt again.

Sui Sui, sitting obediently on her tombstone, looked forward to the first day of every month.

She was no longer afraid of her sworn brother.

Reborn, Sui Sui returned to the past, hoping to make peace with her sworn brother again. But the moment she opened her eyes, she heard him say coldly, "Didn't you say you were moving to the other residence? Why haven't you left yet?"

Sui Sui: ...Why did I have to come back to this exact moment?
