One Piece: The Long-Haired Princess

Leppe is a Celestial Dragon in this story, which is something to be aware of before reading. Her morals and ethics aren't like those of an ordinary person. To put it simply, she's a little princess who benefits from living under a feudal system. She's kind, but takes slavery for granted. She's merciful, yet can execute the enemies of the Holy Land without hesitation. She's tolerant, but fiercely protective of her people's interests... She yearns for freedom and loves adventure, but can't let go of her false sense of duty. She dreams of the faithful love in fairy tales, yet will always want more. She's never been taught to hold back, and has never needed to.

Love is patient and enduring. Leppe only learns this after meeting Shanks. Because she loves him, she wants to understand him. She admires and yearns for him. He's like the sun, warm but impossible to look at directly. Shanks is the person she wishes she could be. Looking in the mirror, she sees her other self, the one Shanks despises and wants to escape. Who wants to be hated by the person they love? So when Imu came for her, she didn't resist.

In short: If you're the sort who scrutinizes the female lead's character, please don't open this story. It was originally posted on Lehu. I hope you enjoy it, and please leave comments to encourage me.
