As a racing driver, Kending Bird is often jokingly called a "two-faced man" behind his back.
As a child, he wouldn't even let his friends get close when he was celebrating. But as an adult, he has become a notorious paddock playboy.
The media joke that he turns into a different person the moment he puts on his racing suit. After all, on the track, he is meticulous, cool-headed, and in complete control. Away from the paddock, he lets himself sink into a life of indulgence and excess.
His fans make excuses for him, saying the media is just spinning things and painting him with an overly broad brush. They haven't spent much time with Kending, after all.
Leclerc, though, wants to argue back.
--The longer you spend with someone, the more you can appreciate that strange "two-faced" quality.
It's so strange, he thinks. Leclerc is always seized by the urge to contradict and berate Kending. He always feels that Kending wouldn't do those things, wouldn't say such things.
He isn't Kending.
Who is he? And who is that "Kending"?
Then one day, Lando throws an awful party under the pretense of "training," when it's really just an awkward, chaotic flirt-fest.
Kending, whose romantic history is a disaster and who has just cleared up some rumors about his love life, acts unusually nervous.
When gorgeous women crowd around him, he looks like a young boy who doesn't know what to do with his hands. His voice tense, he asks, "Wait! Weren't we supposed to be having a practice race...?"
Lando raises an eyebrow. "What are you talking about? This was your idea at the last party."
He grins suggestively.
"Didn't you say we could... one for three?"
With the entire crowd's attention back on him, Quentin, who usually dresses as a man to impersonate Kending and race under his name: ...
Bro, this is way more exciting than racing in F1.
[Reader notice]
* Includes content such as [impersonating someone and throwing races], which disrespects the spirit of competitive sports. Please be aware. The protagonist doesn't go to prison, and there's very little actual racing.
* Best read with your brain switched off. I'm already using the tired old trope of a woman dressing as a man, so cut me some slack.
* Switches between first- and third-person perspectives.
* OOC warning. One-sided crushes from everyone.
* Updates whenever I feel like it.
