Zhong Yu is a researcher, as well as the security chief of Reef Island.
After three months of torrential rain, the skies finally cleared. Zhong Yu and her colleagues went to the shore to collect samples of strange beasts.
They discovered a half-human beast! It was the first known Stalker capable of mimicking human form!
Seeing Zhong Yu, the little monster excitedly slapped its enormous fish tail against the ground. At the same time, the biological detector picked up a strange signal.
"Mas...ter [heart]"
In the year 228 of the X Era, Blue Star saw the emergence of large numbers of aquatic beasts. They came ashore during heavy rain and invaded human territory. The command center called them "Stalkers."
Humanity desperately needed a way to control the Stalkers. It was then that Zhong Yu arrived at the Reef Island research institute.
Everyone said Zhong Yu was a monster. Cold and heartless, she showed no reaction at all when her companions died. She loved collecting all kinds of unusual beasts, and the entire research institute was her playground.
Zhong Yu didn't bother to defend herself. Being around her own kind disgusted her. She preferred seeing a beast's pupils go unfocused as it submitted to her.
N527's arrival stirred a long-forgotten thrill in her.
The little monster excitedly played with the collar around its neck. "Master, Master, I like you!"
She suddenly lost interest.
"Master... are you going to abandon me?"
Zhong Yu closed the storybook. "And so the witch killed the king, and she and the little mermaid lived happily ever after."
"Then they kicked the bucket!" The little monster raised a hand. "Kicked the bucket!"
"...Yes."
