Halfway through the term, a transfer student named Yidao Shu joined the first-year class.
Suguru Geto had only caught a quick glimpse of her when she enrolled. He remembered her as someone who seemed quiet and serious.
One evening, he returned to the classroom to pick something up and ran into Satoru Gojo and Yidao Shu standing face to face at the dorm entrance.
The atmosphere was strange.
Satoru Gojo had a bag slung over one shoulder and was looking down at his phone, as though he hadn't noticed the new student in front of him.
Watching from a short distance away, Suguru Geto thought he was doing it on purpose.
Whatever the reason, leaving someone standing at the dorm entrance like that was too much.
He was about to step in and smooth things over when Yidao Shu's voice made him stop.
"Satoru."
Suguru Geto took a step back.
[Suguru Geto]
Their first meeting after his defection did not go well.
At an illegal curse-user auction, Yidao Shu was ambushed after being lured into a trap during her investigation. In the end, he chose to get involved.
He wanted to draw a clear line between them and make their hostility unmistakable. Then their differences in ideals enraged him, and Suguru Geto lost control in a way that was rare for him.
When he came to his senses, he let go of the hand gripping her throat and said, somewhat awkwardly, "Sorry. Get some rest before you leave."
At their next meeting, he witnessed her save someone from a cursed spirit, only to be attacked in return.
The curse user wore a look of disgust and didn't stay to see the end, but he could already guess what had happened.
Sure enough, she was just as she had always been.
[Toji Fushiguro]
After the Shibuya Incident, everything was in chaos. In the middle of it, Toji Fushiguro received a job.
The rain poured down. In the distance, a residence surrounded by layers of barriers gradually came into view. This was the most heavily concealed residence of the jujutsu world's higher-ups.
Holding an umbrella, he followed close behind Yidao Shu. "I can't believe someone like me would take a job that loses money."
Rain dampened her brows and eyes. Her pale gray eyes looked at him without the slightest hesitation.
"Just kidding." Toji Fushiguro's mouth curved into a dangerous smile. "I'll always make your wishes come true."
Reader's guide:
1. Everyone has one-sided feelings for someone. There will be a bit of melodrama.
2. The characters may be out of character, but I'll try not to let them stray too far.
3. The blurb may be revised, but the central premise won't change.
4. I'll add more if I think of anything...
