Marrying a Hunter

Lu Yan transmigrates, and the moment she opens her eyes, she's told that to save her younger brother, she traded herself for two bowls of grain and was promised to a dead man. Her ghost wedding is scheduled for tomorrow.

The family she's supposed to marry into is dirt poor too, and has a six-year-old sister-in-law to raise.

She got to keep her life, so a ghost wedding doesn't scare her! The family has no money? This place is backed by mountains and bordered by water. How could they go hungry?

With her skills, Lu Yan leads everyone out of poverty and into a good life. Plenty of people secretly ask about her, and some even urge her to remarry.

Her mother-in-law is kind, her sister-in-law is lively and adorable, and her dead husband doesn't even expect her to share a bed. She gets two kids as a bonus.

Where else could she find such a sweet deal?

No remarrying. Absolutely not.

When Xiang Nan rides home on his warhorse, looking every inch the hero, he learns that everyone in the village thought he had died in battle. His grandmother considered his mother and sister burdens and drove them out of the family home, leaving the two of them to live in a tattered thatched hut. Poor him, suffering alone below, and his mother even arranged a ghost wedding for him.

Absurd! A rotten old custom! He storms inside, only to meet a young woman with bright eyes and delicate features.

His mother and sister burst into tears of joy at the sight of him. His mother grabs his hand and says with a smile, "Nan, this is the wife I found for you. Look how lovely she is."

Xiang Nan's ears grow hot. He swallows the scolding on the tip of his tongue and gives an awkward nod.

Lu Yan is dumbfounded. What happened to the ghost wedding?
