Ambitious, flirtatious senior sister X Jealous, composed legitimate junior brother
Linyue knew from an early age that she was a character in a book, and a cannon-fodder destined to die before turning fifteen.
But she refused to accept her fate. Still a child, she traveled thousands of miles to become the sect leader's disciple. Once she began cultivating, not only did she survive, she also became the true power behind the throne at Zixu Immortal Manor, second only to the sect leader and above everyone else. The Outcast.
Her ambitions did not end there. If she could obtain the Myriad Manifestations Spirit Pearl inside Xie Jintang, the future Demon Lord, she could break through to the Deification Realm. From then on, both the immortal and demonic realms would be in her grasp.
At this point, Xie Jintang was still an inconspicuous seventh son of the Demon Lord. The timing was perfect.
The Myriad Manifestations Spirit Pearl could only be swayed by love, so she schemed to bring Xie Jintang to her side. Under the guise of being his senior sister, she led him into cultivation and taught him immortal arts, helped him seize the demon clan's treasure and remake his demon bones, and risked her life to save him when she ventured alone into the Frozen Ash Cavern. She raised Xie Jintang from a pale, gaunt, solitary wolf of a boy into a handsome man who embodied both good and evil.
Just as she was about to reap her reward, Xie Jintang turned the tables and pinned her beneath him. His fingers lifted her chin with unyielding certainty, and his dark, hollow eyes fixed on her ever-misty gaze.
His thin lips curved in a smile, but his eyes were cold to the bone.
"Senior sister, having fun with your performance?"
Xie Jintang had a secret: he could hear everyone's innermost thoughts. The first time he met Linyue, he knew of her ambition.
He went along with her plans and took shelter under her protection, watching coldly as she acted out their deep bond as fellow disciples. He could hardly wait to see how despairing Linyue would be when she realized she had been fooled.
He prided himself on watching from the sidelines, secure in his position, and freely enjoying her attention. He simply never imagined that her heart could hold so many men. The Zixu sect leader, the Yuan imperial clan, the king of the merfolk: each one was someone she loved.
Absurd! He wanted to kill them all, keep her imprisoned by his side for all eternity, sharing a bed in life and a grave in death.
