He Ou x Jun Ying
A gloomy, neurotic type with a venomous tongue who snaps at people without realizing it, has a delicate heart, and excels at psychologically tormenting himself
x
A dramatic, top-of-the-class extrovert who loves provoking him, is emotionally clueless, and believes money can solve anything
It starts at school, from high school through college, then comes the chase-your-love-at-the-crematorium phase, and finally the ending. Since the two are students for most of the story, I guess this counts as a school novel.
Fated childhood friends + chasing love at the crematorium x2 + getting back together after a breakup
He Ou is a peculiar young man who wears hospital gowns as everyday clothes. He loves creating things and loathes inexplicable people, especially strangers with no sense of boundaries.
On the first day of sophomore year, he walks through the door and learns that he has gone from a privileged solo desk at the back by the wall to the miserable life of sharing a double desk with whoever he gets in the blind-box draw. His new classmate hasn’t even arrived yet, but their things are already piled on his desk.
He Ou: What’s wrong with you?
The new classmate, standing on the podium: He Ou! I came to this school and this class for you. Aren’t you touched?
He Ou: Who are you?
Jun Ying: I’m heartbroken. So all those childhood bonds of ours were misplaced after all
He Ou: What bonds? The ones where you set off firecrackers and blew my down jacket into a feather duster?
Jun Ying: That was an accident
He Ou: Or the ones where you covered my clothes with hot glue and stuck on Ultraman and some sheep?
Jun Ying: ...
Jun Ying: Cut me some slack, Brother Ou. I know I was wrong.
He Ou: Take him away and banish him to the cold palace!
Jun Ying (in a falsetto): Your Majesty~ I bribed the whole court and came back~
He Ou: Are your civil and military officials guarding the cold palace?
Jun Ying: You really are impossible to win over! The vows we swore in those years, our blood oath, the time we tore our robes
He Ou: What are you dawdling for? Dinner’s ready, and we’ve got oil and salt. Get over here and eat!
Jun Ying: Coming!
A flying gull weary of the mortal world x an unruly lion
I’ll try to write it quickly and not drag it out.
There are non-scientific elements. A ridiculous yet angsty story, with an open ending.
Theme: Healing each other
