A strange family has moved into the hills behind the village.
A strange, pitch-black castle with pointed turrets, the Pit is wreathed in ominous black mist. The skies above it are forever overcast with storm clouds or lit by flashes of lightning.
The castle's mistress, Libitina, lives there with her family, Shriek and Hand.
The head of the family, Libitina Frump, always wears a long, funeral-black dress. Her face is cold, and her manner gloomy yet elegant. Having spent so long asleep in the dark, she's a little out of touch with the world, but friendly toward others.
But Libitina has something she finds hard to put into words. As a child, she was terribly rebellious. After a huge fight with her sister, she stormed out of the house. For various reasons, Libitina has always wanted to prove to her sister that she can be a proper Frump even while losing herself in the dark abyss.
When she was once again awakened from her coffin by the seance of her sister Morticia and Wednesday, the witch discovered that the castle, graveyard, and family had all landed in some unknown world.
"All right, then. Satan's playing a prank."
Libitina sat up in her coffin without a care. She liked this surprise.
The witch had been thoroughly alarmed by the dazzling sun beyond the forest and the fairytale-like valley, when she suddenly sensed a surge of dark power that felt wonderfully familiar. Oh, family!
Excited, Libitina snatched away the little girl playing murder games with her brothers (blond hair and blue eyes... no matter!) and left them a friendly invitation in the form of a threat.
How wonderful! As Libitina performed a few little soul rituals, she was delighted to discover that the girl was a little witch, too!

Libitina swore that she would not only become Mother of the Frump family, but also find even more family members and bring the Frumps together to give Morticia a fright, proving she was a proper Frump!
In short, life for the Frump family is as peaceful as ever today.
