This is the next one I'll be writing
[Sharp-tongued, arrogant lich archmage top x “mediocre,” laid-back savior bottom]
Norris Clark had known from birth that he was no ordinary person. From a small, powerless nobody, he crossed the limits of the gods and time to become a lich known as an “Archmage.”
He ushered in a new era. Before him, there were no words or people capable of defining the most dazzling genius. After him, “Norris Clark” became synonymous with the extraordinary and the great.
As an archmage and a scholar, Norris believed that in his long life, no one and nothing could stop him, make him fail, or tell him no.
But the Goddess of Time said, “Though you are brilliant, the one and only shining star on the xx Continent, can you create a miracle?”
What is a miracle? What counts as a miracle? How can you be sure something is one?
The lich, who had gone unchallenged for thousands of years, found the question fascinating. He abandoned the dull truths that still needed to be tested, traveled to a remote, peaceful mountain village, and set his sights on a timid, useless, ordinary, lazy... young man.
“Other than his face, he's got nothing going for him. Does even the goddess judge by looks?”
Fine. He had to complete this project and turn this completely unknown, run-of-the-mill pretty boy into a savior.
Garcia Miller was born in the peaceful, tranquil land of xx and considered himself a perfectly ordinary young man.
If there was anything that set him apart from other ordinary young men, it was the one unique trait of his personality.
As Auntie xx put it, Garcia was even lazier than the salted fish she'd been selling for fifty years!
He had less ambition, courage, energy, and cheer... and more ease, dullness, leisure, and contentment.
In short, he was about as ordinary as they came.
Heavens knew what he'd done to make this perverted lich take a liking to him. The lich abducted him from his hometown, forced him to attend lessons and study magic, and even dragged him around to meet elves, crown princes, and dragons.
Garcia wanted to scream. These were legendary creatures that only appeared in travel journals!
Goddess of Time, why do I have to suffer such misfortune?
Is it because I wasn't sincere enough when I prayed, and only come to you when I need something, Goddess?
And so Garcia's miserable life began.
An aside: No one ever denied the talent and power of the Lich King Norris. Although people were astonished that he could train a savior, it was more or less expected and didn't exceed the world's logic and rules.
But the mediocre savior who could change the great archmage Norris inspired genuine reverence. They were willing to call him a master.
Master Educator Garcia just smiled without a word, then kept tugging at his teacher's sleeve, asking for an automatic elemental-balancing plow, a weather-controlled rain shelter, and a smart multi-purpose cooking pot.
Norris (scowling): I'm working on it, I'm working on it! Stop rushing me!
