In her second year of high school, Song Qingwu's maternal grandmother becomes increasingly ill, so her parents take her to Qingyu City to make it easier to care for her. Song Qingwu transfers from Xiyuan No. 1 High School to Qingyu No. 1 High School, where she meets Jiang Yuechuan. They secretly love each other, but a misunderstanding keeps them from confessing their feelings before graduation. Jiang Yuechuan later gets cancer, but he doesn't let Lu Qisheng tell Song Qingwu. After Jiang Yuechuan dies, Lu Qisheng eventually tells her anyway, and Song Qingwu learns how Jiang Yuechuan felt. She adopts a child from an orphanage who looks a lot like him, and visits Jiang Yuechuan's grave every year.
