Dragon Raja: Emerald Night

[The story of Jormungandr before she became Xia Mi. A 10,000-word yuri short story, releasing on August 2.]

In human history, the death of Attila, the Hun leader who once dominated his age, has always been a mystery.

Known as the "Scourge of God," the king wielded such extraordinary might that he nearly crushed the Eastern and Western Roman Empires, striking terror into all of Europe. Yet he died in silence on the wedding bed he shared with a Germanic girl.

In the history of the Dragon Clan, her death is shrouded in even greater mystery.

For this brutal Hun emperor was also a noble First-Generation Dragon, one of the Four Dragon Kings: the Dragon King of Earth and Mountains. Her name in the past was Jormungandr. In the age when dragons ruled the world, the city of Rome was her fief. All her conquests in life were for the sake of returning there and rebuilding her empire.

But just as she was about to fulfill her wish, she died suddenly. Her remains were divided among three coffins made of gold, silver, and iron, as if she had foreseen her own death.

Did Honoria, princess of the Western Roman Empire and the woman whose life had been entwined with hers, secretly plot against her? Or did Idico, an assassin of the Secret Party disguised as a bride, kill her on their wedding night?

The answers to every mystery were left behind on the wedding night of that Hybrid assassin and the Dragon King.

The story is based mainly on Dragon Raja 2 and Dragon Raja 2: Wings of Mourning. It follows the serialized version, since the revised edition seems to have changed Attila into an ordinary dragon. Some details differ from actual history. For instance, Attila probably never actually married Honoria, nor did she receive half of the Western Roman Empire's territory.
