His Doctor, Lin

Dr. Lin always thinks I don’t want to get with her. - Zhou Du

Zhou Du was so handsome it was almost unfair, and he had received plenty of love letters since middle school.

Because he didn’t want to reject people too harshly, they nicknamed him the “human air conditioner.”

By high school, things had gotten even worse. Seeing that he seemed oblivious to the whole thing, his friends asked if he was gay.

Boys’ love stories were all the rage at the time, and people had come up with countless pairings for him.

Given his unusual circumstances, he didn’t deny it, which only made it seem more like he was confirming it.

At thirty, Zhou Du fell ill and was hospitalized. Even then, his parents came to pressure him to get married, more aggressively than ever.

Zhou Du could only feel a headache coming on.

After his parents left, a doctor in a pristine white coat walked in.

She lowered her eyes and changed his IV bag, but didn’t leave. Her cool, clear gaze settled on him. “Would you like to go on a blind date?”

Zhou Du: “...?”

Lin Jingchi fell in love with someone when she was young, but he wasn’t interested in... women at all.

She hated him, yet still... loved him, and was even willing to enter a marriage of convenience with him.

Zhou Du said, “If we get married in a flash, what about our sex life?”

“I don’t need one.” Lin Jingchi pressed her lips together, paused, then said with a distant expression, “You... do as you please.”

Zhou Du looked conflicted. “...Forgive me for asking, but do you have some kind of condition?”

Lin Jingchi: “...?”
