Her Hometown, Where You Are Me

Lin Wan, a 32-year-old office worker from the city, suddenly loses her job and becomes a "person with nothing": no job, no partner, no direction.

With her life brought to an abrupt halt, she drags her suitcase into the remote mountains of the south as if fleeing, and ends up renting the room above Shen He'an's place. Shen He'an is the young owner of the "Fumin Supermarket."

But her landlady is only twenty-three, beautiful and strong, with a temper hotter than the wild chilies growing in the mountains.

"Oh? Afraid of dogs, but you still came out to the countryside?"

"What's so great about this lousy creek?"

"Tsk, city people are so delicate."

"..." Lin Wan grits her teeth. Can life really go on with a girl nine years younger picking on her every day?

But as the days go by, things start to change.

She sees Shen He'an venture deep into the mountains late at night with a flashlight, just to find an elderly person and an old yellow ox that have gotten lost.

She sees her shoulder two sacks of pig feed, the smooth lines of her arms taut in the setting sun, while beads of sweat roll down her neck and disappear into her collar.

She even sees her stand up for the village girls who've been bullied, like a wild-growing thorn bush shielding the softness behind it.

Lin Wan suddenly senses trouble. How is it that the "little chili pepper of Qingshi'ao" looks more and more... heart-melting?

Until one night, Shen He'an is brought home drunk. Her burning face buries itself in Lin Wan's neck, her tears soaking Lin Wan's collar, and her voice trembles, thick with drink:

"Sis... please don't go, okay?"

This is a rural love story about leaving and putting down roots, about disapproval that turns into affection.

In a southern village steeped in the fragrance of lei cha and the scent of earth, watch an artsy young woman get tangled up step by step by a "little country chili pepper" nine years her junior, and finally find a home for her heart in a place far from home: "You are my home."

Theme: Wherever the heart finds peace is home.
